Holding Your Online Hands CIC ("HYOH", "we", "us") Last updated: 14 August 2026
HYOH is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, why, and how we look after it.
Who we are
Holding Your Online Hands is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales (company number 16143558). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What data we collect
We only collect personal data when you contact us directly through our website contact form. This includes:
First name and last name
Email address or phone number
The content of your message
We do not use cookies, analytics, or any tracking technology on our website, and we do not have a newsletter sign-up form (our updates are shared via our Instagram and LinkedIn pages).
How we use your data
We use the information you provide through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties beyond what is described below.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest, to respond to enquiries you have chosen to send us.
Donations
If you donate to HYOH, this is processed through PayPal, linked to our Santander business bank account. We do not directly collect or store your card details; these are handled by PayPal in line with their own privacy policy.
Google Maps
Our homepage includes an embedded Google Map. When this loads, Google may collect data such as your IP address in line with their own privacy policy. We do not control this data and recommend reviewing Google's privacy policy for further information.
Social media
Our website footer links to our social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc). If you interact with us there, that platform's own privacy policy applies, not this one.
How long we keep your data
We retain contact form enquiries only for as long as necessary to respond to and resolve your query, in line with our internal Data Retention Schedule.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to how we process your data
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
